Second Opinion Consultation for OCD and Anxiety Treatment
Clarity. Direction. A Solid Plan
Not sure if your diagnosis is accurate—or if the treatment you’ve started is the right fit? I offer second opinion consultations to help you get clearer on what’s going on and what to do next.
This service includes 1 to 5 sessions focused on comprehensive assessment, diagnostic clarification and individualized treatment recommendations. In many cases, your needs may fall outside my specialty, and I’ll help connect you with the right providers. You can meet with me virtually from anywhere I’m licensed (Arizona, Minnesota, New Mexico, or Florida).
At the end of our work together, you’ll receive personalized treatment recommendations and, with your permission, I’ll collaborate with your existing providers to help ensure the best path forward.
Untangling OCD and Everything That Comes With It
When everything overlaps, where do you even start? When you’re dealing with OCD and other diagnoses, it can be hard to tell what’s driving what. Maybe you’ve been told your case is too complex, or that the co-occurring issues rule you out for certain treatments. Symptoms can overlap, feed into each other, or show up in confusing ways. I’ll help you map out what you’re experiencing, identify what’s fueling each part, and clarify which evidence-based treatments are the best fit—and where to start. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s going on and a plan of what is next.
Is it OCD, something else—or both? OCD shares symptoms with many other conditions, and that makes things complicated. Intrusive thoughts? Not unique to OCD—they’re also common in PTSD. Avoidance and rumination? Found across anxiety, trauma, and mood disorders. What matters is how the behavior is functioning—not just what it looks like on the surface. That’s why OCD is so often missed or misdiagnosed. If you’re questioning your diagnosis, you’re in the right place. I specialize in OCD—but also in digging deep with comprehensive assessments and clear case conceptualization.
Feeling overwhelmed by options—or worried you’ll waste time on the wrong one? Once you finally get an OCD diagnosis, the flood of treatment options can feel like too much. ERP, I-CBT, ACT… it’s hard to know what will actually help and what’s just another frustrating misstep. Add in all the misinformation online, and it becomes even harder to tell what’s truly evidence-based. And when you’re paying out of pocket, you want to make the most of your time, money, and energy—not get stuck in another round of trial and error.
Years in therapy—and still not where you want to be. Maybe you’ve made some progress, but not nearly as much as you hoped—or you’ve hit a wall entirely. When OCD isn’t recognized or treated with a specialized approach, therapy can plateau or even become part of the problem. Generic anxiety strategies like reassurance or avoidance can unintentionally reinforce the OCD cycle, leading to more confusion, wasted time, and growing frustration.

In many cases, your needs may fall outside my specialty, and I’ll help connect you with the right providers.
